As Squircle Capital continues to expand its private equity real estate portfolio and progresses several key redevelopments, our team’s expertise and vision remain our greatest assets. Today, we are exceptionally proud to celebrate a major milestone for our Design Manager, Àgata Real, who is marking an incredible 10 years with us.
Since joining Squircle Capital as a Design Manager in 2016, bringing 25+ years of experience with her, Àgata has been an invaluable presence in the team. In her role, she meticulously analyses the design aspects of our real estate developments to help assess the viability of new investment opportunities. Her work spans the breadth of our real estate portfolio and pipeline, ensuring that every project reflects the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and luxury.
A prime example of Àgata’s significant contributions to Squircle Capital is her work on the highly anticipated Park Gstaad redevelopment, which is being carefully reimagined as a Four Seasons property. She has been instrumental to the success of this complex project, which successfully balances modern luxury with the timeless features of the original 5-star hotel, which first opened its doors in 1910.
As we look ahead to the completion of several major redevelopments, we are incredibly grateful to have Àgata’s technical knowledge and commitment contributing towards our drive to continuously improve.
In conversation with…
To celebrate her decade-long journey with Squircle Capital, we sat down with Àgata to learn a little more about her life both within and beyond the firm.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Travelling, drawing, cooking and reading — ideally with enough time to enjoy all four. I love discovering new places, being creative, experimenting in the kitchen and getting absorbed in a good book.
What’s the last book you read?
The Names by Florence Knapp. It is a moving and thought-provoking story that explores three different versions of one boy’s life, depending on the name he is given. It is a fascinating reminder of how one small decision can shape everything that follows.
Where’s your favourite place to unwind and relax?
Under a tree, with a good book and a cup of tea. Somewhere peaceful, shaded and preferably far away from emails.
What can’t you live without at the office?
A positive workplace atmosphere. The whole team really embodies a focused and supportive ethos, which makes even the busiest days feel collaborative and enjoyable.
What part of your role do you find most rewarding?
Seeing our contributions to the design gradually brought to life as a project progresses. There is something very satisfying about watching an idea move from the drawing board to reality and finally seeing the completed result.
Across your time at Squircle, what has been your favourite project to work on?
Aman Amancaya in The Bahamas. It is an exceptional project in a beautiful setting, and being involved in shaping something so distinctive has made it especially memorable.
